Shoremen Improve to 3-0 in Centennial in 14-9 Away Victory over Diplomats

Washington is 3-0 in CC Play for First Time Since 2015

LANCASTER, Pa. – Visiting Washington College overcame an early 3-0 deficit by scoring the next six goals to come away with a 14-9 win at Franklin & Marshall in Centennial Conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Shadek Stadium. The Shoremen improve to 9-2 overall and 3-0 in the Centennial, while Diplomats drop to 7-4 and 2-1 respectively. Washington is 3-0 in Centennial play for the first time since 2015 when it opened CC action 4-0.

How It Happened
- The host Diplomats took a 3-0 lead with 8:22 to go in the opening quarter.
- Washington would respond with the next six goals to take a 6-3 lead with 3:10 to go in the first on a Nate Winters man-up score from Peyton Gestole. The goal capped a run of three in 51 seconds that was started on an Aiden Ventura tally with 4:01 left in the first that put the Shoremen ahead for good at 4-3.
- The Shoremen took a 7-4 lead after one.
- F&M got the first two goals of the second to cut the lead to 7-6 with 8:19 left before WC scored three straight to go ahead 10-6 with 52 seconds remaining before halftime on a Talan Behler tally from Gestole. Ronan Miller started the three-goal run with score off the face-off seven seconds after F&M trimmed the lead to one.
- Washington took a 10-7 lead into halftime.
- In the third the visitors outscored the home side 2-1 to lead 12-8 after three.
- The fourth quarter also saw a 2-1 result for Washington to provide the final margin.

For The Shoremen (9-2, 3-0 CC)
- Scoring: Winters (game-best six goals), Gestole (goal and three assists), Behler (two goals and assist), Jack Dupuis (goal and two helpers),  
- In Goal: Keegan Dunn (60:00, nine goals allowed, 15 saves)
- Miller (11 face-off wins and seven ground balls to lead all players in both), Patrick Rodgers (two caused turnovers)
- Washington totaled 46 shots, won 12 face-offs, was 24-for-25 in clears in the contest and 2-for-5 in man-up situations.
- The Shoremen, who had a 46 ground balls, committed 11 turnovers, while causing seven Franklin & Marshall miscues.
