Chestertown, MD- The Washington College baseball team split in their first conference match up against the Ursinus Bears. The Shoremen held the Bears at five runs to secure the game two victory.
Game 1: Washington College 1 Ursinus 12 (7 innings)
How It Happened
- Alex Dardaris singled to right field to begin the top of the second inning. He was moved to second as Ty Everitt was walked. A double play put the Shoremen out of the inning with two left on base.
- Ursinus went up 1-0 in the bottom of the second inning.
- Drew Kinsey singled to left field in the top of the third inning. He was out at second with a fielder's choice and the Shoremen were scoreless heading into the bottom of the third.
- The Bears scored eight runs in the bottom of the fourth to go up 9-0 over the Shoremen.
- The lone run for the Shoremen came in the top of the sixth inning. Kinsey was walked and scored two at bats later as Brett Connolly hit into an error by the right fielder.
- Ursinus lead 12-1 at the end of the top of the seventh taking game one.

Game 2: Washington College 1 Ursinus 12
How It Happened
- The Shoremen scored first in the top of the first inning. Chase Ruppel doubled to right field with two outs. Alex Dardaris followed that hit with a single to right field and Ruppel was able to score.
- Ursinus tied the game 1-1 in the bottom of the third inning.
- The Shoremen regained the lead, scoring two runs, in the top of the fifth inning. Ty Everitt and Ty Powell were walked in the top of the inning. Brett Connolly singled to right field sending both Everitt and Powell home and taking the team for the Shoremen, 3-1.
- Ursinus scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead, 4-3.
- Dardaris singled again with a hit to right center. He advanced to second with a Wyatt Udhe single to center field. Pete Kokinis doubled to left field earning an RBI as Dardaris scored and the Shoremen tied it up, 4-4.
- The Shoremen headed into the top of the eight inning trailing again, 5-4. Brady Wozniak was hit by a pitch to put himself on base. He stole second and was advanced to third on an Everitt single. Everitt also stole second. Wozniak was batted in by Udhe who hit a sacrifice fly to left field. Everitt was able to come home on a Reese Hirsh single to left center field.
- The Shoremen headed into the final inning up, 6-5.
