LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior attacker
Mia Salvatierra (Bel Air, Md./Fallston) has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week in women's lacrosse for the week of April 7-13. Salvatierra earned the Centennial's weekly award for the first time this season and third time in her career.
Salvatierra totaled 14 points on four goals and 10 assists, including her 100th career helper, in a 2-0 week for the Shorewomen. She also picked up seven ground balls and caused seven turnovers. In Monday's 17-13 win at Ursinus, the senior tied the program mark for assists in a game with a personal-best seven, becoming the fifth player to do so and the sixth time overall in team history. In the game's decisive 6-0 run that put the Shorewomen ahead 17-12, she scored twice and handed out one assist, including scoring the goal that put Washington ahead for good at 13-12 with 11:52 to go in the fourth quarter. Salvatierra also scooped up a career-topping four ground balls and tallied three caused turnovers. On Saturday in a 14-12 victory against visiting #24 Muhlenberg, she passed out three assists and scored twice in addition to netting a career-best four caused turnovers and adding three ground balls. The senior became the third player in team history to reach 100 career assists on a goal by
Anna Wilson that made it 14-7 with 7:58 to go in the game.
Prior to today, Salvatierra previously won the conference's weekly award twice in 2024 on March 12 and April 30. This is also the fourth time Washington has earned the Centennial's Offensive Player of the Week Award as
Piper Evans won it on February 24, March 17 and March 24.
