Washington College Athletics Presents Shore Awards

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — The Washington College Athletics Department held its Shore Awards ceremony last night, April 29, honoring the top student-athletes for the 2025-26 academic year.  Team Most Valuable Players, Most Improved Players and Coaches' Awards were named, and several special departmental awards were presented as well. A list of the awards follows. 

Senior Athletic Award: Given annually to the male student and the female student who, in the opinion of the department, achieved the most in athletics at Washington College.
Chris Johnson, Sr., Trap & Skeet (Lutherville, Md./Dulaney)
Kaitlyn Boggs, Sr., Women's Basketball (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional)

Goose Nation Award: Given annually to the senior male student and the senior female student who, in the opinion of the department, by cooperation, loyalty, sportsmanship, spirit, and industry, contributed the most to the development of athletics at Washington College.
Gracelyn Goforth, Sr., Softball (West Stokes, N.C./King)
Ty Everitt, Sr., Baseball (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown)

The Eldridge Eliason Award: The senior male student and female student who, with scholastic standing in the upper half of the class, has accomplished the most in the field of athletics.
Mia Salvatierra, Sr., Women's Lacrosse (Bel Air, Md./Fallston)
Drew Kinsey, Sr., Baseball (Monkton, Md./Hereford)

The Thomas Reeder Spedden Award: Presented to one or more senior student-athletes for academic standing and outstanding achievement in athletics.
Chase Ruppel, Sr., Baseball (Shamong, N.J./Seneca)
MaryCate Anson, Sr., Field Hockey/Women's Lacrosse (Newark, Del./Newark Charter)

The Elizabeth "Bo" Blanchard Memorial Sportsmanship Award: The junior female and male athlete who best exemplifies the qualities of enthusiasm, dedication, and sportsmanship characteristic of "Bo."
Sophie Kilbride, Jr., Women's Soccer (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area)
Tshazi Kamau, Jr., Men's Soccer (Nairobi, Kenya/High Mowing School [N.H.])

The Doris T. Bell '50 Award: The senior female with the highest cumulative average who has won a varsity letter during the year.
Maura Collins, Sr., Women's Rowing (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway West)

The Alfred Reddish Award: The senior male with the highest cumulative average who has won a varsity letter during the year.
Michael Daniello, Sr., Men's Soccer (Lewes, Del./Sussex Academy) 

SAAC Rookie of the Year: Given to recognize the first-year athlete who has demonstrated exceptional skill and significant impact within their team. Winner was nominated and voted on by SAAC Members.
Keegan Dunn, Fr., Men's Lacrosse (Marlton, N.J./St. Joseph's Prep [Pa.])

SAAC Most Spirited Team: Honors the team(s) that is always there, always cheering loud and making a positive impact for their fellow Shoremen and Shorewomen from the stands.
