Washington College Athletics Announces 2026 Hall of Fame Class

The Class Will Be Inducted on the 16th of October

CHESTERTOWN, MD. –The Washington College Athletics Department announces that three new members will be inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame. The 2026 class consists of Kevin Breslin '12 (Men's Basketball)Lauren Dockrill '14 (Softball),  Jon Kenney '07 (Men's Lacrosse), and J.B. Clarke (Men's Lacrosse Head Coach). The class will be inducted on the 16th of October.

Kevin Breslin ended his basketball career at Washington College, leading the Centennial Conference in scoring with 18.4 points per game. The three-time All-Conference honoree, two-time first team selection, was the co-male winner of the college's Senior Athletic Award. He led his team in his final season in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals, and free throw percentage. In his junior year, Breslin earned the Thomas Reeder Spedden Departmental Award after starting all 25 games and leading the team in scoring, rebounding, assists, and steals. He also joined the elite group of athletes to earn their 1000th career point that season. He currently sits fourth in career points with 1517, second in career free throws made with 451, fifth in career steals with 151, and eighth in career assists with 248.

Lauren Dockrill began her softball career at Washington College on a high note. In her first season she set the single season record for at bats (163), hits (68), doubles (19), total bases (87), and chances (372). She led the Centennial Conference in all but one of those categories while also setting the single season record for at bats, hits by a freshman, and doubles in the conference. All of this earned her a place on the all-conference honorable mention team. In her junior year, Dockrill led the team with a .390 batting average earning a team-high 57 hits and squad-best 18 doubles as the Shorewomen won their first Centennial Conference Championship to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the first time. In her final year, she led the team again in batting average with a .403 while leading the conference in hits with 58. She earned the 2014 Washington College Senior Athletic Award, All-Centennial second team honors, and Team MVP. Dockrill set seven Centennial Conference softball records, including 221 hits, and 15 Washington College program records during her tenure.

Jon Kenney a two time All-American, was an integral piece in the team's NCAA tournament appearances in 2004 and 2006. Kenney was awarded the Department's Senior Athletic Award and was named a North/South Senior All-Star. He appeared in 72 games and recorded five goals and two assists as a defenseman. His notable stat of 180 ground balls made him a threat in the transition game and a constant disruptor between the lines. Kenney picked up 69 ground balls in his senior year alone. In his first year, 2004, Kenney led the team to the NCAA semifinals and ended the year with an impressive 18-3 record.

J.B. Clarke was hired as the head coach of the Shoremen Lacrosse team in July of 1998. He compiled a 138-63 record at Washington through 12 seasons and has led the Shoremen into the NCAA Division III Tournament seven times. He reached 100 wins at WC in fewer games than any previous Shoremen head coach. In 2003, Clarke led the Shoremen to an unbeaten Centennial Conference record and their first conference championship since 1997. In 2004, Clarke again led the Shoremen to an unbeaten regular season Centennial Conference record and guided the Shoremen to a school-record 18 wins and their first berth in the NCAA Division III Semifinals in since 1998. He had 26 players earn All-American honors on 43 occasions during his 12 seasons as head coach.

Additionally, the Washington College Athletics Hall of Fame Committee will be recognizing Eleanor Shriver Magee with the Edward L. Athey '47 award. This award is presented to a person who has made a significant impact on athletics at Washington College while demonstrating the ideals of integrity, dedication, humility, and enthusiasm.

Eleanor Shriver Magee has helped contribute to the legacy of Athletics at Washington College in a number of ways. She first started as an athlete playing four sports at the varsity level, field hockey, lacrosse, tennis, and swimming. Shriver Magee also played basketball at the club level for her junior and senior year as the squad was turning varsity the year after she graduated. After graduation, Shriver Magee returned to Washington College and served as the head coach of women's lacrosse from 1998-2003 and women's soccer from 1998-2002. In women's lacrosse, she currently holds the program record for most wins as head coach with 60 and guided the team to a pair of 14-win seasons, the most wins for Shorewomen Lacrosse in a single season, three Centennial Conference Tournaments and two ECAC Tournaments. In women's soccer, she was the first coach in the program's history and led the team to a pair of eight-win seasons, which stood as the program's mark for over two decades. Shriver Magee also served at the college in the alumni office after her graduation.
