Chestertown, MD - Washington College's Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics, Thad Moore, named Tom Primosch the next head coach of the men's basketball program.
"Tom made an exceptional impression on the search committee. His clear vision, leadership qualities, and experience as a Division III coach and former student-athlete distinguished him throughout the search process," said Moore. "We are excited about the direction he can help take our department and believe he will be a valuable addition to our campus community. We are proud to welcome him to the Washington College family."
Primosch joins the Shoremen after serving a three-year stint in Collegeville, Pennsylvania at Centennial Conference opponent, Ursinus, as the assistant men's basketball coach. While at Ursinus, Primosch led and created a top three defense for the Bears, finishing first in the conference in blocks per game and second in steals during the 2025-26 season. Ursinus also saw an increase in win totals since welcoming Primosch to their staff and the 2025-26 campaign saw its best record since the 2007-08 season. Primosch also spent a good deal of his time focusing on player development. In this last season, the Bears landed two all-conference players and the Centennial Conference Player of the Year, Mo Toure.

Before his time in Collegeville, Primosch served as an assistant coach in Phoenix, Arizona where he also spent two months interning for Phil Becker, a highly decorated NBA trainer. After his time in Phoenix, Primosch moved to Portland, Oregon where he spent the 2022-23 season working as an operations assistant for the University of Portland Men's Basketball Team.
A Centennial Conference graduate, Primosch graduated from Haverford College in 2021 with a degree in History.
