CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Visiting St. Mary's (Md.) got past host Washington College, 3-2 (16-25, 26-24, 25-22, 20-25, 15-13), on Thursday night inside Penny J. Fall Gymnasium in a non-conference volleyball match. The Seahawks are 5-4 now, while the Shorewomen go to 4-3.

How It Happened
- Leading 16-13, the Shorewomen scored nine of the final 12 points to win by nine points. During the run, Izzy Diehl and Lyndsey Wessel both had two kills and Diehl had seven for the opening set that was clinched on a hitting error by St. Mary's.
- The second set was back and forth the whole time before the Seahawks won the last three points to take it, 26-24. A hitting error by the Shorewomen leveled the match at 1-1. Diehl had five kills and Emily Hartnett served up two aces.
- Coming off the second set, the Seahawks raced out to a 16-8 lead before the Shorewomen turned it around to tie at 21-21 on a Bethany Haughton block. However, St. Mary's took four of the next five points to win by three. For Washington, Diehl had eight kills in this set and Hartnett chipped in with three kills and one ace.
- Washington used an 11-0 run to take the lead for the rest of the fourth set at 19-8 following Grace Salveron's fourth ace in the run, capping the run with consecutive aces. St. Mary's did cut it to 24-20, but the set was concluded with a kill by Emma Shaner giving Washington the fourth set win 25-20.
- WC led 5-2 in the fifth and final set before St. Mary's went on a 6-1 run to grab an 8-6 lead. Trailing 14-11, the Shorewomen staved off two match points before the Seahawks won it on a kill.

- Diehl (career-best 26 kills), Alexis Stubbs (personal-high 31 assists and four aces), Kaysie Lynch (15 assists and three aces), Salveron (four aces), Wessel (six blocks for career-high), Bethany Haughton (four blocks), Hartnett (10 digs and three aces)
- The Shorewomen hit .221 with 15 aces and eight blocks.
