CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Washington College volleyball team swept a home tri-match against visiting Rutgers-Camden and Christendom in a home tri-match on Saturday at Penny J. Fall Gymnasium in non-conference volleyball action. In the first match of the day, the Shorewomen got past Rutgers-Camden, 3-1 (25-12, 25-13, 19-25, 25-23), and in the final match of the day, the Shorewomen swept Christendom, 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-7). The Shorewomen are now 6-3 on the season.    

Washington College 3 Rutgers-Camden 1 (25-12, 25-13, 19-25, 25-23)

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen led 6-5 in the opening set before using a 9-1 run to grab a 15-7 lead on a kill by Izzy Diehl. A service error by the Scarlet Raptors ended the opening set.
- In the second set, WC raced out to an 11-3 lead on a finisher by Emma Shaner. A service miscue by Rutgers-Camden was the final point of the second.
- Rutgers-Camden used an 8-0 run to take command of the third set to lead 17-7 on an attack error by Washington. A block by the visitors was the last point of the set.
- Tied at 23-23 in the fourth and final set, Diehl recorded back-to-back kills to put the set and match in the win column for the Shorewomen.

For The Shorewomen (5-3)
- Diehl (21 kills), Lyndsey Wessel (11 kills), Alexis Stubbs (27 assists and five aces), Kaysie Lynch (14 assists), Grace Salveron (10 digs), Shaner and Bethany Haughton (four blocks)
- Team hit .198 in the contest, totaled seven blocks and notched 14 aces.

Washington College 3 Christendom 0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-7)

How It Happened
- Haughton gave the Shorewomen a 21-10 lead on a kill in the first set before holding off a Crusaders' rally to win by seven with Emily Hartnett netting a kill to cap it.
- Tied 6-6 in the second set, an 8-1 burst by Washington gave the home side a 14-7 advantage on a Haughton ace. A service miscue by Christendom ended the middle set of the match.
- Washington trailed 4-3 in the third set before scoring 12 consecutive points to grab a 15-4 cushion on a hitting error by the guests. Hartnett finished off the win with a kill.
 
For The Shorewomen (6-3)
- Hartnett (12 kills to set career-best and lead all players and two aces), Vanessa Lange (14 assists), Lynch (13 assists and nine digs), Salveron and Nora Biddle (two aces), Haughton (five blocks and two aces)
- Washington had nine aces as the team hit .196. The Shorewomen had 10 blocks.

Notes
- In the middle match, Rutgers-Camden (7-4) got past Christendom (6-5), 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-15).
