How it Happened
- Washington College and Catholic battled through a scoreless opening quarter. Charlotte Schurman made three saves in the first 5:21, while freshman Sophia Warner recorded the Shorewomen's first shot of the game with 16 seconds remaining in the quarter.
- Catholic opened the scoring 3:01 into the second quarter to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead. Washington College responded with back-to-back penalty corners and a shot from Warner that was saved by Catholic goalkeeper. Schurman added another save late in the quarter to keep the deficit at one heading into halftime.
- The Shorewomen continued to battle defensively in the third quarter as Schurman made a save. Catholic earned two penalty corners late in the quarter, but Washington College kept the Cardinals off the scoreboard.
- Washington College generated several offensive opportunities early in the fourth quarter. Jamie Baldwin recorded a shot that was saved by Lowman before the Shorewomen earned three consecutive penalty corners. Natalie Watkinson followed with a shot that was also saved.
- Schurman made another save with 7:18 remaining in the game as Catholic looked to add to its lead. The Shorewomen continued to pressure the Cardinals late, earning three penalty corners in the final 6:03. Watkinson recorded another shot with 36 seconds remaining, but Lowman made the save to preserve the 1-0 Catholic victory.
