ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – Host Eastern scored the game's only goal in the 30th minute of the first half in a 1-0 win over visiting Washington College on Thursday afternoon at Olson Field in a non-conference women's soccer contest. The Shorewomen are now 1-1-0 on the season, while it was the season opener for the Eagles.

How It Happened
- The Eagles got the game's first goal at the 29:35 mark of the first half on a header off a corner kick into the upper right portion of the net. It would be the lone goal of the first half as Eastern took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
- In the second half, Washington nearly tied it in the 66th minute on a shot from about 25 yards out off the foot of Ruby Lane, but the Eastern keeper was able to knock it away as it was headed to the upper right corner.
- The Shorewomen earned a corner with just a minute to go in the team's final chance to try to get the equalizer, but the Eagles were able to clear the ball and the clock ran out.
