CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Washington College volleyball team had a successful home debut with a 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-13, 25-16) win over visiting Albright on Thursday night at Penny J. Fall Gymnasium in a non-conference volleyball match. The Shorewomen are now 2-0 on the year, while the Lions are 0-2.

How It HappenedÂ
- The first set starts off in a back-and-forth battle going point-for-point, but the Shorewomen took off with a 12-5 run to take a 20-13 lead on a hitting error by Albright.
Gianna Folke capped the set with a kill.
- Trailing 16-15 in the second set, the Lions used a 4-0 run to take the lead for the remainder of the set at 19-16. Washington got it to 21-20, but Albright rolled out four of the last six points to win by three.
- Washington came out strong in the third set by racing out to a 10-2 lead on a
Izzy Diehl finisher. A hitting error by the Lions clinched the set for the home side.
- In the fourth set, the Shorewomen totaled 15 kills and five aces, three from
Emily Hartnett, to win by nine. The hosts put the set away with a 10-1 run to lead 21-11 on a kill by
Emma Shaner. Diehl closed out the match with her personal-best 21st kill as she had eight in the last set.
