Box Score SWARTHMORE, PA -- Seventh-ranked host Swarthmore
College jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead en route to a 6-0
Centennial Conference men's soccer victory over visiting Washington
College tonight in Swarthmore, PA. The Garnet improved to 8-1
overall and 2-1 in conference play with the win, while the Shoremen
fell to 2-7 and 0-3 with the loss.
Fabian Castro gave the Garnet a
quick 1-0 lead with a goal off an assist from Dylan
Langley 49 seconds into the game. Castro then returned the
favor, assisting on a goal by Langley at 18:38. Castro also
assisted on a free-kick goal by David Sterngold at
27:19, giving the Garnet their 3-0 halftime cushion.
Kieran Reichart made it 4-0 off an
assist from Morgan Langley at 51:08, Henry
Ainley scored an unassisted goal at 81:01, and
Thomas Drew scored an unassisted marker at 84:55
to provide the second-half scoring.
Freshman Ryan Duffy (Philadelphia,
PA/Chestnut Hill Academy) registered a team-high two shots
in the loss for Washington.
Swarthmore enjoyed a 21-6 advantage in shots and a
3-2 edge in corner kicks.
The Shoremen return to action Saturday with a 3:30
p.m. Centennial Conference game at McDaniel.
