Box Score Ripple Makes Five Saves in Loss
CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Wesley College scored
once in each half of a 2-0 women's soccer victory over host
Washington College tonight on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr.
Stadium. The Wolverines evened their record at 1-1 with the win,
while the Shorewomen, who were playing their season opener, fell to
0-1 with the loss.
Neither team got on the scoreboard until the 40:14
mark when Kaitlin Barry fired in a goal from 15
yards out. The Wolverines took a 2-0 lead at 57:03 when
Samantha Hannibal sent a ball into the upper
right-hand corner of the goal.
Washington's final scoring chance came at 84:36
when sophomore forward Jennifer Kiarsis (Rye, NY/Canterbury
School, CT) had her shot saved by Wesley goalkeeper
Sydney Kahan.

Tori Ripple (Baltimore, MD/John Carroll) each made
five saves in the game. Each team recorded 10 shots in the contest
and Wesley held a slim 5-4 edge in corner kicks.
The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a
7:00 p.m. home game against Goucher.
