Violette Wins Pair of Individual Events for
WC
CHESTERTOWN, MD - Visiting Dickinson College
defeated host Washington College, 123-81, in Centennial Conference
men's swimming this afternoon inside Casey Swim Center. The Red
Devils improved to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in conference meets with the
win, while the Shoremen fell to 3-4 and 0-3 with the loss.
Junior Matt Violette (Westbrook,
ME/Westbrook) won the 200 freestyle in a Washington
College season-best time of 1:51.64 and the 200 backstroke in a WC
season-best time of 2:03.55 for the Shoremen. Senior Dylan
Pollock (Savannah, GA/Benedictine Military) added a win in
the 200 butterfly in a WC season-best 2:05.74, while freshman
A.J. Feurer (Kingsville, MD/Archbishop Curley)
took the 1000 freestyle in 10:42.95.
Violette, sophomore Austin Auger (McLean,
VA/Langley), Pollock, and senior Chris Soper
(Towson, MD/Loyola Blakefield) finished first in the 400
medley relay in a WC season-best time of 3:45.67.
Soper was second in the 50 freestyle in 22.82 and
in the 100 freestyle in a WC season-best 50.17. Auger was second in
the 200 individual medley in 2:10.58 and in the 200 breaststroke in
2:21.14. Sophomore Ross Mills (Silver Spring, MD/Paint
Branch) placed second in the 200 butterfly in 2:15.63.
The Shoremen return to action one week from today
with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference meet at Ursinus.
