Auger, 200 Freestyle Relay Team Post

COLLEGEVILLE, PA - Host Ursinus College won nine of
11 events to post a 129-75 Centennial Conference men's swimming
victory over visiting Washington College this afternoon. The Bears
improved to 6-5 overall and 2-4 in conference meets with the win,
while the Shoremen slid to 3-5 and 0-4 with the loss.
Sophomore Austin Auger (McLean,
VA/Langley) won the 100 breaststroke for the Shoremen in
1:04.88. Sophomore Nick Longworth (Media, PA/Strath
Haven), senior Dylan Pollock (Savannah,
GA/Benedictine Military), junior Matt Violette
(Westbrook, ME/Westbrook), and senior Chris Soper
(Towson, MD/Loyola Blakefield) took the 200 freestyle
relay in 1:32.66.
Auger added a second-place finish in the 200
individual medley in 2:13.83. Soper was second in the 50 freestyle
in 23.26 and in the 100 freestyle in 50.75, while Violette placed
second in the 200 freestyle in 1:53.59 and in the 500 freestyle in
a Washington College season-best time of 5:06.43. Longworth
finished second in the 100 backstroke in 57.74, Pollock finished
second in the 100 butterfly in 56.44, and freshman A.J.
Feurer (Kingsville, MD/Archbishop Curley) finished second
in the 1000 freestyle in 10:51.14.
The Shoremen return to action one week from today
with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference meet at McDaniel.
