Box Score Lee Registers Sixth Double-Double of the
Season
Chestertown, MD – Sophomore outside hitter Jenny Lee (Wilmington, DE/Mount
Pleasant) recorded her sixth double-double of the season
with a match-best 14 kills along with 13 digs, while also serving
up a match-high four aces, as Washington College swept visiting
Ursinus, 3-0, (25-19, 25-23, 25-17) on Wednesday evening at the
Cain Athletic Center in Centennial Conference volleyball
action. Washington improves to 10-15 overall and 2-3 in
conference play, while Ursinus falls to 8-13 and 1-5
respectively.
The Shorewomen and Bears were tied 7-7 in the opening before the
Shorewomen scored five straight points to grab a 12-7 lead on a Lee
service ace. The Bears cut the lead to 16-15 on a Washington
attack error, but the hosts scored five unanswered points to take a
21-15 lead on a Lee kill. A kill by senior middle hitter

Whitman (Galesville, MD/Southern) clinched the opening
set for WC by a 25-19 margin.
Ursinus took a 19-14 lead in the second set on a kill by
Anahi McIntyre and led Washington to call a
timeout. Out of the timeout, the Shorewomen scored seven
consecutive points to grab a 21-19 lead on a Whitman kill and that
led to a timeout by the Bears. Ursinus won four of the next
six points to tie the set at 23-23 on a kill by Mary Kate
Wilmoth. However Washington would benefit from two
attack errors by Ursinus on the next points to take the set,
25-23.
Washington raced out to a 6-1 lead in the third set, but Ursinus
would cut it to 15-12 on a WC service error. The Shorewomen
would take control of the set by going on an 8-1 run to take a
23-13 lead on a service ace by senior defensive specialist/libero

Daelemans (Tracys Landing, MD/Southern).
Washington clinched the set and the match on a Lee kill.
Whitman joined Lee in double figures in kills with 10 and hit
.333 in the match for the Shorewomen. Freshman setter
Lauren
White (Huntingtown, MD/Huntingtown) led all players
with 29 assists and hit .417 in the victory as she added five
kills. Sophomore defensive specialist Rita Rivera
(Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) had a
match-best 15 digs, while sophomore libero/defensive specialist
Kaitlin
Rowan (Damascus, MD/Damascus) added 10 digs.
For the Bears, Elizabeth Roth had a
double-double with 24 assists and 11 digs. Wilmoth had
team-best 14 digs for Ursinus who had four players in double
figures in digs. Kristin Hanratty and
Gabriella Galleo both chalked up 13 digs in the
match.
The Shorewomen have now won consecutive conference matches for
the first time since October 2006 when they downed Bryn Mawr and
Ursinus in back-to-back contests.
Washington is back in action on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. when
they host Gettysburg in Centennial Conference action. .
