Box Score WESTMINSTER, MD -- Host McDaniel College scored the
game's only goal late in the first half to post a 1-0 Centennial
Conference field hockey win over visiting Washington College this
afternoon in Westminster, MD. The Green Terror (7-8, 4-4
Centennial) pulled into a tie for fifth place in the conference
standings with the Shorewomen (6-9, 4-4) with the victory.
With 10:07 remaining in the first half,
Kathryn Corson scored off an assist by
Katherine Jones to give the Green Terror the 1-0
lead. McDaniel held a 6-5 advantage in shots in the first half as
each team had two penalty corners in the period.
The Shorewomen held a 10-1 advantage in shots and
14-0 advantage in penalty corners in the second half, but could not
find the back of the cage. Washington's final shot of the game came
with 1:14 left when senior attack Danielle Rosato (Narvon,
PA/Pequea Valley) had her attempt saved by McDaniel
goalkeeper Stephanie Thompson.
Thompson made five saves in the win for McDaniel,
while senior goalkeeper Shannon Davis (Sykesville,
MD/Liberty) had one for the Shorewomen.
The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a 4:00
p.m. Centennial Conference game at Bryn Mawr.
