Hopkins Bests Washington, 7-0

BALTIMORE, MD – Host Johns Hopkins University got two goals from Scott Bukoski to record a 7-0 win over visiting Washington College on Saturday evening in Centennial Conference men's soccer action at Homewood Field.  The Blue Jays, who will be the number four seed in next week's conference tournament, improve to 12-3-3 overall and finish 5-2-2 in conference play. The Shoremen conclude the season with a 4-12-1 mark and a 1-7-1 conference record.

Sean Coleman puts the Blue Jays on the board 13:55 into the match when he finished off a pass from Kevin Hueber at the top of the box.  Bukoski put Hopkins up 2-0 just 1:57 later when he scored from six yards out on a feed from Sean Duggan.  Bukoski made it 3-0 at the 36:32 mark of the first half with Corey Adams recording the helper. 

The Blue Jays' first two goals of the second half in a 46-second span on tallies by Nick White and Sam Glassman respectively at 56:55 and 57:41 to make it 5-0.  White assisted on Glassman's tally, while Matt Dunne got the assist on White's goal.  Noah Guiberson assisted on the final two goals of the night, the first on a Chris Douglas goal at 72:19 and the second on Jun Park's tally with 1:25 left in the contest.

Ravi Gill got the win for the Blue Jays in goal making three stops before giving way to John Belanger at the 61:30 mark.  The Blue Jays had one team save.  Hopkins outshot Washington in the match 30-11 and had an 8-2 edge in corner kicks.

Junior goalkeeper Chris Phipps (Newark, DE/St. Mark's) made six saves.  The Shoremen also recorded two team saves in the match.

Four seniors played in their final match tonight for the Shoremen, defender Danny Wood (Lancaster, PA/Lampeter-Strasburg), defender Duncan Leech (Silver Run, MD/Winters Mill), midfielder Gavin Rayburn (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) and midfielder/defender James Bedrock (Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick).
