Longworth, Violette Record Second-Place Finishes
CARLISLE, PA -- Host Dickinson College topped visiting Washington College, 134-61, in a Centennial Conference men's swim meet today in Carlisle, PA.
Senior Matt Violette (Westbrook, ME/Westbrook) and junior Nick Longworth (Media, PA/Strath Haven) each recorded an individual second-place finish for the Shoremen in the loss. Violette placed second in the 500 freestyle in 5:09.93, while Longworth was second in the 200 backstroke in 2:04.87.
Dickinson entered the final two events of the meet as exhibitions only. Washington junior Austin Auger (McLean, VA/Langley) received the first-place points in the 200 breaststroke, finishing in 2:23.52. Sophomore A.J. Feurer (Kingsville, MD/Archbishop Curley), junior Ross Mills (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch), sophomore Spencer VanCise (Temple City, CA/Temple City), and senior Tim Beadell (Timonium, MD/Loyola Blakefield) received the first-place points in the 400 freestyle relay, finishing in 3:41.44.
The Shoremen (1-6, 0-3 Centennial) return to action Wednesday with a 6:00 p.m. Centennial Conference meet at Swarthmore.
