Box Score Geho Scores for Shoremen in Loss
DOVER, DE -- Host Wesley College defeated visiting Washington College, 4-1, in a non-conference men's soccer game tonight at Scott D. Miller Stadium. The Wolverines improved to 7-4-5 with the win, while the Shoremen slipped to 3-8-2 with the loss.
Wesley scored on its first shot of the game when Joel Jean-Simon sent a through ball ahead to Chris Phillips, who scored from 12 yards out at 9:25. The Wolverines netted their second goal on a breakaway as Danny Ramirez sent the ball ahead to Joshua Chelleh, who scored from 12 yards out at 41:25. The Shoremen got on the board junior defender Justin Geho blasted a free kick into the back of the net from 32 yards out at 44:12.
Chelleh pushed the Wesley lead back to two goals, scoring an unassisted goal on a breakaway at 55:12. The Wolverines tack on their fourth goal of the contest at 76:01 as Phillips scored off an assist from Ramirez.
Wesley held a 14-8 advantage in shots and a 7-4 edge in corner kicks in the game.
The Shoremen return to action Saturday when they host Franklin & Marshall at 7:00 p.m. in a Centennial Conference game.
