LANCASTER, Pa. – Junior midfielder
Tucker Sprano (Annandale, Va./Falls Church) has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week in men's soccer for the week of October 20-26. This is the second time Sprano has landed the Centennial's weekly award in his career.
Sprano factored into both game-winning goals in the Shoremen's 2-0 week. In a 2-1 win over Swarthmore on Wednesday night, Sprano handed out what proved to be the game-winning assist at the 19:08 mark, feeding
Yasir German for a 2-0 WC advantage. Three nights later versus Ursinus, Sprano scored the eventual match-deciding tally in the 51st minute, finishing off a cross by German to make it 2-0 Washington in a 2-1 victory. The junior also earned the penalty kick that led to the Shoremen's first goal late in the first half after drawing a foul in the box.
The midfielder previously won the conference's weekly award earlier this season on September 16.
