Lee Wins Two Events for Shoremen

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Swarthmore College topped host Washington College, 133-72, in Centennial Conference men's swimming tonight inside Casey Swim Center.

Freshman Greg Lee (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) won two individual events for the Shoremen, taking the 50 freestyle in a Washington College season-best time of 22.12 and the 200 butterfly in 2:00.93.  His time in the 50 freestyle made him the Shoremen's ninth-fastest swimmer ever in the event.

Freshman Austin Yocum (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) won the 100 freestyle in 49.55 and took second in the 1000 freestyle in a WC season-best 10:35.38, becoming the Shoremen's eighth-fastest swimmer ever in that event. Freshman James Ray (Timonium, MD/Towson) added a second-place finish in the 200 backstroke in a WC season-best 2:03.25 to become the Shoremen's eighth-fastest swimmer ever in that event. Sophomore Robert Mix (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East) was second in the 500 freestyle in 5:12.74. 

Ray, senior Austin Auger (McLean, VA/Langley), Lee, and freshman Steven Bilinski (Swarthmore, PA/Strath Haven) led off the meet by winning the 400 medley relay in 3:44.58.

The Shoremen (3-5 overall, 0-4 Centennial) return to action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference meet at Ursinus.
