CARLISLE, PA -- Visiting Washington College won all three doubles matches and the bottom five singles matches to post an 8-1 Centennial Conference men's tennis victory over host Dickinson this afternoon in Carlisle, PA. The Shoremen improved to 6-4 overall and 4-1 in conference play with the win, while the Red Devils fell to 6-6 and 3-3.
In doubles, senior Aaron Ellison (Largo, FL/St. Petersburg) and senior Kevin Papen (Dover, DE/Caesar Rodney) posted an 8-2 win over Will Golinkin and Franco Mena at No. 1, sophomore Marc Cywinski (Brisbane, Australia/Pendleton [FL]) and freshman Vishnu Rajes (Yercaud, India/St. John's) defeated Ari Blask and Erik Dinardo, 8-3, at No. 2, and freshman Dan Boaté (West Chester, PA/Reed Henderson) and graduate student Andrew Laux (Mt. Sinai, NY/Mt. Sinai) bested Jon Brittin and David London, 8-6, at No. 3.
Ellison beat Dixon Blue at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-2, while Rajes downed Mena, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 3 and Boaté defeated Blask, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 4. Cywinski posted a 6-2, 6-1, victory over Brittin at No. 5, while senior Kyle Lisco (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) outlasted London, 4-6, 6-3, 10-8, at No. 6. Dickinson's win came at No. 1 where Golinkin rallied to beat Papen, 3-6, 7-6, 10-5.
The Shoremen return to action Monday with a 3:30 p.m. Centennial Conference match at Muhlenberg.
