TEMPE, Ariz. - Six Washington College men's tennis student-athletes have been named 2026 ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) Scholar-Athletes for Division III. In addition, the Shoremen were one of 147 Division III programs to have received the ITA All-Academic Team award. 

Student-athletes selected for scholar-athlete had to have had grade-point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.  For the All-Academic Team award, the team needed to have a grade-point average of at least 3.2 (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.

Recent graduate Kohl Perkins (Lynchburg, Va./Virginia Episcopal School), rising seniors Tichi Chialva (Cordoba, Argentina/La Salle HS) and Jorge Urgal Zuleta (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/St. Michael's), rising junior Oskar Wroblewski (London, England/Emilio Sanchez Academy [Spain]) and rising sophomores Petter Storberg (Hovik, Akershus, Norway/Stabekk VGS), Maxi Synnestvedt (Stabekk, Akershus, Norway/Stabekk) were the six Shoremen to be named ITA Scholar-Athletes.  They were six of the 1,151 from across Division III men's tennis to be named scholar-athletes.

Perkins has earned the scholar-athlete award four times, Chialva and Urgal Zuleta netted the honor for the third year in a row, while Storberg, Synnestvedt and Wroblewski landed on the team for the first time.

The Shoremen were one of seven from the Centennial Conference to earn the team award along with Dickinson, Franklin & Marshall, Haverford, Muhlenberg, Swarthmore and Ursinus.
