Storberg Tabbed to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team

LANCASTER, Pa. – Three Washington College men's tennis players earned All-Centennial Conference honors in a vote conducted by the conference's eight head coaches. Junior Tichi Chialva (Cordoba, Argentina/La Salle HS) was named first team singles and second team doubles, junior Jorge Urgal Zuleta (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/St. Michael's School) earned a spot on second team doubles and freshman Maxi Synnestvedt (Stabekk, Akershus, Norway/Stabekk) was tabbed first in singles. Chialva and Urgal Zuleta were named as a tandem for second team doubles. In addition, freshman Petter Storberg (Hovik, Akershus, Norway/Stabekk VGS) was named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team.

Chialva won 11 matches in singles to place in a tie for second on the team, including a 4-2 mark in Centennial play. He was Washington's primary No. 1 this season, playing at the top spot in 15 matches this season.

Chialva and Urgal Zuleta played together seven times as a tandem and went 5-2, including 3-1 in the conference. The pair played the top flight in doubles on six of seven occasions, going 4-2 in those six matches.

Synnestvedt also captured 11 wins in singles and one of three Shoremen to do so, which tied for second on the squad. The freshman won 10 matches in dual matches and emerged as the team's No. 2 singles player, playing 12 of his 18 dual matches in the two spot.

Storberg was named to the All-Sportsmanship for the first time.  Each Centennial Conference member institution was permitted to nominate one student-athlete who exemplifies the best in sportsmanship for the All-Sportsmanship Team. This is the first time he has been named to the team. Storberg won a combined 17 matches between singles and doubles this season.
