Box Score Harryman Makes 21 Saves in Loss
CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- Fifth-ranked Franklin & Marshall scored once in each half to post a 2-0 Centennial Conference field hockey win over host Washington College this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Diplomats improved to 13-1 overall and 7-0 in Centennial Conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 3-9 and 2-5.
The Diplomats got on the board with a penalty stroke goal by Bethany Vincent just 4:20 into the game. F&M held a 15-0 advantage in shots in the first half, but Washington senior goalkeeper Steph Harryman (Churchton, Md./Southern) made 12 saves in the period to limit the damage to one goal.
Lauren Eastman scored F&M's second goal on a rebound after Washington freshman midfielder Elizabeth Davis (Earleville, Md./Bohemia Manor) made her first career defensive save on a shot by Audrey Buckman 26:26 remaining in the game.
F&M finished the game with a 31-2 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in penalty corners. Harryman finished with 21 saves in the loss, while Avery Koep made one save in the shutout for the Diplomats.
The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Haverford.
