COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Seventeen Washington College field hockey student-athletes have been named to the 2025 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad, including eight who were also named Scholars of Distinction. In addition, the Shorewomen were one of 79 programs to have received the NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award.

Student-athletes selected for the National Academic Squad, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, have been nominated by their coaches and have attained a minimum overall grade-point average of at least 3.50 through the first semester of the 2025-26 academic year. Student-athletes named Scholars of Distinction have been nominated by their coaches and have attained a minimum overall grade-point average of at least 3.90 through the first semester of the 2025-26 academic year. Programs receiving the National Academic Team Award achieved a team grade-point average of 3.0 or better.

MaryCate Anson (Newark, Del./Newark Charter) and
Kendal Thomson (Catonsville, Md./Mount de Sales Academy) achieved both National Academic Squad and Scholar of Distinction honors for the fourth consecutive year. Senior
Celia Long (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) is now a three-time secured National Academic Squad and Scholar of Distinction recognition for the third time. Senior
Julia Weglarz (Bear, Del./Appoquinimink) earned National Academic Squad honors for the fourth time and is a three-time Scholar of Distinction. Junior
Natalie Watkinson (Princess Anne, Md./Washington) is now a three-time qualifier for both honors. Sophomores
Laney Errickson (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) and
Tyler Rice (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) landed National Academic Squad and Scholar of Distinction recognition for the second straight year. Freshman
Colleen Anson (Newark, Del./Newark Charter) is first-time recipient for both honors.
