Box Score Hubley Tallies 10 Points
ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Host Muhlenberg got a double-double of 18 points and game-best 10 rebounds from Leanna Tallamy in a 82-51 victory over visiting Washington College in a Centennial Conference women's basketball game on Wednesday evening at Memorial Hall. The Mules improve to 4-5 overall and 3-2 in the Centennial, while the Shorewomen drop to 3-6 and 0-4 respectively.
The Shorewomen led 11-8 with 15:12 left in the first half after a steal and fast-break layup by senior guard Emily Hubley (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) before the Mules went on a 12-0 run to take a 20-11 lead with 12:11 remaining in the half on a Caroline Barberi three-pointer. Muhlenberg held a 27-20 lead with 3:34 left in the first half following a triple from the right corner by WC sophomore guard Daniela Falcone (Potomac, Md./Connelly School of the Holy Child) before going on a 9-2 half-closing run to take a 36-22 lead into halftime.
The Mules outscored the Shorewomen in the second half, 46-29. Muhlenberg led by as many as 34 points at 70-36 with 6:44 to go in the contest.
In addition to Tallamy, the Mules got a game-high 19 points from Nicole Pepe who scored 16 points in the first half. Hannah Rush passed out five assists to lead all players. Muhlenberg shot 49% from the floor (31-for-63), 46% from three-point range (10-for-22) and 67% from the foul line (10-for-15). The hosts had a 41-31 edge on the glass.
Hubley scored 10 points to lead the Shorewomen, while junior forward Carley Kendall (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) had nine points and a team-high seven rebounds. The Shorewomen shot 30% from the field (16-for-54), 14% from three-point land (2-for14) and 68% from the free throw stripe (17-for-25).
The Shorewomen conclude the 2014 portion of their schedule on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. against visiting St. Mary's (Md.) at the Cain Athletic Center.
