Washington College Sailing Opens Fall at Anderson Trophy

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Washington College sailing team open its fall season this weekend at the Anderson Trophy, an inter-conference regatta hosted by Yale University yesterday and today. Washington finished 18th of 18 teams at the regatta.

Senior skipper Ryan Bailey (Toms River, N.J./Toms River South) and sophomore crew Karlyn Long (Louisville, Colo./Fairview) were 18th in A Division, placing fourth in the 12th A Division race. Junior skipper Eric Siegel (Kilmarnock, Va./Christchurch School) and junior crew Alex Crawford (Annapolis, Md./Severna Park) were 17th in B Division. Siegel and Crawford's best race finish was a sixth-place finish in race 3B. 

Six races sailed in each division on Saturday and another six were completed in each division on Sunday. Dartmouth won the Anderson Trophy, followed by host Yale in second and Bowdoin in third.

The Washington College sailing team will host the MAISA Central Fall Qualifier next Saturday and Sunday on the Chester River.
