Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – Host #4 Franklin & Marshall scored on all three of its shots on goal to record a 3-0 victory over visiting Washington College at Tylus Field in a Centennial Conference men's soccer match on Saturday night. The Diplomats improve to 8-0-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the Centennial, while the Shoremen drop to 4-5-0 and 0-2-0 respectively.
Jeremy Levine put the Diplomats on the board at the 24:02 mark of the first half when his free kick from just outside the penalty box found the upper right corner of the goal.
In the second half, F&M made it 2-0 at 71:47 when Devon Malfitano stole a Shoremen clearing attempt and from the top of the box placed the shot into the lower right corner. The Diplomats' Paul McWhirter capped the scoring when he deflected the free kick of Ben Draheim into the lower left corner at the 84:45 mark.
The Diplomats held an 11-3 advantage in shots in the match and had 10 of the 13 corner kicks in the contest. Neither goalie, F&M's Trevor Britton or Washington senior Lin Robinson (York, Pa./York Country Day) made a save in the match.
The Shoremen return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Haverford for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff in conference play.
