Box Score Kendall Tallies 11 Points, 9 Rebounds for Shorewomen
CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- Visiting Muhlenberg College out-scored host Washington College, 45-27, in the second half en route to a 75-51 Centennial Conference women's basketball victory this afternoon inside Cain Athletic Center. The Mules improved to 9-5 overall and 8-2 in conference play with their sixth straight win, while the Shorewomen fell to 5-10 and 1-7 with the loss.
The Mules held a 30-24 lead at halftime and a 38-32 advantage with under 16 minutes to go before reeling off 14 unanswered points to build a 52-32 cushion on a lay-up by Laura Gregory with 10:39 remaining. Muhlenberg led by at least 16 points the rest of the way.
Leanna Tallamy poured in 23 points and brought down 10 rebounds for Muhlenberg in the win, shooting 15-for-16 from the foul line. Nicole Pepe added 13 points, knocking down three of her five three-point field-goal attempts, while Gregory added 11 points and six boards. Christina Santone collected 10 rebounds for the Mules and swatted away four Washington shots.
Junior forward Carley Kendall (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) paced the Shorewomen with 11 points and nine rebounds, six of them on the offensive end. Sophomore guard Daniela Falcone (Potomac, Md./Connelly School of the Holy Child) had a strong game off the Washington bench, swiping a career-high six steals and scoring seven points.
Muhlenberg shot 43.4% from the field in the game, including a 51.9% mark in the second half. Washington was 27.9% from the floor in the contest.
The Shorewomen are back in action Wednesday with an 8:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Johns Hopkins.
