How It Happened
- The Bullets took a 1-0 lead when KJ DePontes received a long pass sent from Will Gately in the midfield that was tipped in between by Henry Smith and then scored from close range on the right side near the endline at 20:47.
- The Shoremen's only shot on goal of the first half came in the 33rd minute off the foot of Dimitri Kaliakin, but it was saved by Gettysburg goalkeeper Peter Como.
- Gettysburg had a 5-2 advantage in shots in the first half.
- DePontes almost scored again in the 54th minute, getting a breakaway after a failed clearing attempt by the Shoremen, but his clean shot that got past a diving Josh Samuels rang off the post.
- The Shoremen had a great scoring chance in the 65th minute as Brian Wilkinson beat multiple defenders in transition and got a good shot off that was turned away by Como.
- Washington had another good chance when a shot by David McSwain went just high of the goal in the 79th.
- Wilkinson had another attempt at an equalizer saved by Como on a shot from the middle of the box in the 85th.
- Como saved a header by Michael Holowesko off a corner kick in the 87th and a shot by Lewandowski with just 16 seconds remaining to preserve the win.
