Wilkinson, Strong Tally One Goal, One Assist Each

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Junior forward Brian Wilkinson (Sykesville, Md./Mount St. Joseph) and junior defender Cole Strong (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) each scored one goal and assisted on another as host Washington College held off visiting McDaniel for a 2-1 Centennial Conference men's soccer victory on a rainy and windy afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.

How It Happened
- Wilkinson gave the Shoremen a 1-0 lead at 10:41 off a double assist from Strong and Chris Lewandowski. Lewandowski played the ball into the box to Strong, who found Wilkinson in the middle of the box for the finish.
- Strong then scored off a Wilkinson assist at 18:54 as Wilkinson played the ball from near the endline to Strong in front of the goal, who found the back of the net after McDaniel goalkeeper Nick Over tried to intercept Wilkinson's pass.
- Storm Robinson got the Green Terror on the board when he converted a penalty kick at 57:50.  
- Dimitri Kaliakin nearly scored the third goal for the Shoremen in the 62nd, ringing a free kick just off the crossbar. 
- A counterattack by the Green Terror in the 66th ended when Derek Stiles forced Greysen Brockbank to send his shot wide of the goal.

- Scorers: Wilkinson (1 goal, 1 assist), Strong (1 goal, 1 assist), Lewandowski (1 assist)
- Goalkeeper: Josh Samuels (0 saves, 1 goal allowed, 90:00)

- Scorers: none
- Goalkeeper: Over (6 saves, 2 goals allowed, 90:00)
- The Green Terror finished with five shots and one corner kick.

Notes
- The win for the Shoremen was their first over the Green Terror since 2012. The two teams played to double overtime ties each of the past two seasons.
- This was the 68th all-time meeting between the two teams. The Shoremen now hold a 32-28-8 lead in the series.
