Shoremen Win Nine of 14 Events in 153-108 Victory
GETTYSBURG, Pa. — The visiting Washington College men's swim team handed host Gettysburg College its first dual-meet loss since January of 2013 and its first Centennial Conference dual-meet loss and first home dual-meet loss since February of 2010 when the Shoremen defeated the Bullets, 153-108, this afternoon. Getttysburg came into today's meet with a 21-meet overall win streak, a 30-meet conference win streak, and a 26-meet home win streak. The Bullets have won the last five Centennial Conference Championships.

How It Happened
- The Shoremen won nine of the meet's 14 events, getting three individual first-place finishes each from Lucas Morgan and Pat Elliott. Morgan won the 1000 freestyle in 10:12.32, the 200 breaststroke in 2:10.41, and the 200 individual medley in 1:59.03. Elliott captured the 200 freestyle in 1:46.44, the 200 backstroke in 1:59.02, and the 500 freestyle in 4:59.15.
- Morgan also swam the breastroke leg of the winning 200 medley relay team, which opened the meet with a winning time of 1:36.71. Charles Logan swam the backstroke leg, Brent Longenecker the butterfly leg, and Kevin Mackenzie the freestyle leg. Longenecker also won the 100 butterfly in 52.18.
- Brent Hochstein won the 200 butterfly for the Shoremen in 2:00.32 and was second in both the 200 breaststroke (2:18.61) and the 200 individual medley (2:03.24).
- Seth Wrigley and Mackenzie each posted two individual second-place finishes. Wrigley was second in the 200 butterfly (2:01.86) and the 100 butterfly (53.75), while Mackenzie placed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.16) and the 100 freestyle (49.16). Logan added a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke in 54.41.
Notes
- The Shoremen improved to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in Centennial Conference meets with the win. The Bullets were competing in their season opener.
- The Shoremen finished 9-1 in dual meets each of the past two seasons, with their only loss coming against Gettysburg each year.
- Gettysburg's last dual-meet loss was a 158-154 non-conference defeat at Mary Washington on January 26th, 2013. Their most recent conference and home loss came against Franklin & Marshall, 122-83, on February 7th, 2010.
- With the win, the Shoremen improved to 2-21 all-time against the Bullets. Their only previous win in the series was a 125-79 victory on November 4th, 2006.
