#19 Sea Gulls Rally for 3-2 Double-Overtime Win Over Shoremen

Wilkinson, Holowesko Score for Shoremen in Loss

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Michael Feeney scored the game-winning goal with just 2:26 remaining in the second overtime as visiting 19th-ranked Salisbury University rallied for a 3-2 win over host Washington College in non-conference men's soccer action tonight on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. Brian Wilkinson and Michael Holowesko scored for the Shoremen, who suffered their first defeat and allowed their first goals of the season.

How It Happened
- Salisbury nearly scored in the 16th minute, but a high blast by Brad Martinelli rang off the middle of the crossbar.
- A handball called against Salisbury in the box resulted in a penalty kick for the Shoremen. Wilkinson converted the penalty kick, sending the ball low into the lower-right corner of the net at 20:37.
- The Sea Gulls sent a shot off the post in the 27th as Nathaniel Eiben just missed a goal off a corner kick sent by Brad Martinelli
- Salisbury held a 5-4 edge in shots in the first half, but Wilkinson's penalty kick was the only shot on goal of the half.
- A penalty kick by Salisbury's Matt Greene evened the score at 1-1 at the 57:08. Washington was called for a foul in the box and Greene scored into the lower left of the goal.
- The Sea Gulls took the lead after a Washington defender misplayed a ball just over the goal line following a long throw into the box by Greene at 61:21.
- The Shoremen evened things up when Holowesko headed in a corner kick from Dimitri Kaliakin at the 72:43 mark.  
- Skyler Clark had a shot saved by Salisbury goalkeeper Drew Staedeli in the 78th minute and then immediately sent a rebound shot just wide of the goal.
- In the 81st, Salisbury's Brooks Zentgraf had a shot in transition scooped up by Washington goalkeeper Jonathan Wendeborn.  
- Washington had an 8-6 advantage in shots in the second half. Salisbury had a 4-3 edge in shots on goal.
- The only shot on goal of the first overtime came in the 100th minute when Tyler Andrus had a header saved by Wendeborn.
- Feeney's winner at 107:34 was the only shot on goal of the second overtime. Martinelli sent a cross from wide right of the goal into the box and Feeney scored from six yards out. 

For the Shoremen (4-1)
- Scorers: Wilkinson (1 goal), Holowesko (1 goal), Kaliakin (1 assist)
- Goalkeeper: Wendeborn (3 saves, 3 goals allowed, 107:34)
- The Shoremen finished with 12 shots and 10 corner kicks in the game.

For Salisbury (4-1)
- Scorers: Greene (1 goal), Feeney (1 goal), Martinelli (1 assist)
- Goalkeeper: Staedeli (2 saves, 2 goals allowed, 107:34)
- The second Salisbury goal was an own goal.
- Salisbury had 15 shots and seven corner kicks in the game.

Notes
- The penalty kick by Greene was the first goal the Shoremen allowed this season, ending a streak of 367:19 shutout minutes to open the year for the Washington defense.
- Holowesko's goal was his fourth of the season, all off assists from Kaliakin.
