How It Happened
- The Diplomats controlled possession early and found the back of the net on their first shot on goal as Matthew Regueiro passed across the front of the goal to Wyatt Fabian, who scored from two yards out at 17:12.
- F&M recorded all four of the first-half shots and had three corner kicks in the period.
- Skyler Clark recorded the Shoremen's first shot of the game in the 48th minute, sending the ball wide of the near post.
- In the 52nd minute, Christian Cooke sent a hard shot from near the top of the box, that rocketed just wide of the goal.
- In the 54th minute, Chase TenBrook had a shot for F&M during a corner kick that was played off the line by Washington defender Michael Holowesko.
- In the 55th minute, it was Holowesko who nearly scored, ringing a shot off the post.
- Clark sent another transition shot just wide in the 67th for what would prove to be the Shoremen's final shot of the contest.
- Ben Draheim nearly bent a corner kick in for F&M's second goal in the 72nd, but Washington goalkeeper Josh Samuels punched it away.
- A Conor Pellas shot for F&M at the end of the 89th minute went off the post.
