Shoremen Run Record to 8-0 with 150-112 Win at Ursinus

Morgan & 400 Medley Relay Team Break Pool Records 

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. — The Washington College men's swim team improved to 8-0 overall and 4-0 in Centennial Conference meets this season with a 150-112 victory over host Ursinus College this afternoon. The Bears dropped to 4-3 and 2-3 with the loss.

How It Happened
- Pat Elliott, Lucas Morgan, Seth Wrigley, and Kevin Mackenzie opened the meet with a win in the 400 medley relay in a pool-record time of 3:35.87.
- Morgan also broke the pool record in the 100 breaststroke, winning that event in 1:00.38. He added a win in the 200 breaststroke in 2:10.82 and a second-place finish in the 1000 freestyle in 10:15.65.
- Ty Cummings won three individual events for the Shoremen, taking the 200 butterfly first in a Washington College season-best 1:59.51 to better his own standing as the Shoremen's seventh-fastest swimmer ever in the event. He added a win in the 100 butterfly in 53.29 and another in the 200 individual medley in 2:04.73.
- Elliott won the 200 freestyle in 1:47.63 and the 500 freestyle in 4:46.70. Mackenzie won the 100 freestyle in 49.76 and was second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.51. Cody Weiler placed second in the 50 freestyle in 22.17.
- Charles Logan placed second in both the 100 (54.78) and 200 (2:03.87) backstroke events. Brent Longenecker was second in both the 50 freestyle (22.47) and 100 freestyle (49.93). Wrigley took second in the 100 butterfly in 54.96, while Brent Hochstein placed second in the 200 individual medley in 2:06.31.

Notes
- The Shoremen's win was their 15th dual meet win in a row, extending a program-record win streak and equalling the longest head-to-head win streak for a Washington College varsity team in the last 14 years. The women's swim team recorded 15 straight wins spanning the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons, while the men's lacrosse team opened the 2004 season with 15 consecutive wins.
- All 15 wins during the Shoremen's current streak have come by at least 32 points.
