Box Score McCormick Supplies 12 Points Off Bench
CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Visiting Ursinus College used a big run to end the first half to open up a 51-39 halftime advantage en route to an 85-74 Centennial Conference men's basketball win over host Washington College tonight inside Cain Athletic Center.

How It Happened
- The score was tied at 36-36 with under 5:30 to go in the first half before the Bears ran off a 15-3 run to end the period. Brian Rafferty finished the half with a three-pointer for Ursinus with three seconds left in the period.
- Ursinus shot 61% in the first half and held a commanding 21-10 advantage on the glass.
- The Shoremen got to within five points with an 11-3 run during the middle portion of the second half, cutting the lead to 62-57 on a James Drury three-pointer with 9:16 to go. Matt Knowles answered with back-to-back buckets to push the margin to 66-57 with 8:32 left.
- After Tas Dixon sliced the lead to 66-59 with two free throws with 8:02 to go, but the Bears scored eight of the next 10 points, opening up a 74-61 advantage on an Eric Williams three-pointer with 6:48 left. Ursinus led by at least nine points and by as many as 16 during the remainder of the game.
For the Shoremen (2-7, 0-3 Centennial Conference)
- Kevin McCormick supplied the Shoremen with 12 points on 4-for-5 three-point shooting in 16 minutes off the bench. Pat Morgan (12 points) and Dixon (10) also reached double figures in scoring.
- The Shoremen shot slightly better from three-point range (14-for-34) than two-point range (10-for-25) in the loss. Washington committed nine fewer turnovers than Ursinus (10 to 19) and scored 27 points off turnovers to the Bears' nine.
For Ursinus (5-6, 1-3 Centennial Conference)
- Joseph LoStracco put up game highs of 19 points and nine rebounds for the Bears. Knowles added 18 points and five assists, while Malik Draper scored 17 points and grabbed seven boards.
- Rafferty's three-pointer to end the first half represented three of his four points in the game, but he also dished out seven assists and had seven rebounds.
- The Bears shot 53% from the field in the game and scored 48 points in the paint to the Shoremen's 20.
