Box Score Senior Chalks Up 27th & 28th Career Assists to Break 41-Year Old Record
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senior midfielder Dimitri Kaliakin (Landenberg, Pa./Salesianum School [Del.]) broke the school record for career assists, which had stood since 1975, as the visiting Washington College men's soccer team topped host Catholic, 3-1, in a non-conference game this afternoon. The win was the Shoremen's fifth straight.

How It Happened
- The Shoremen's Brian Wilkinson notched the first shot on goal of the game in the sixth minute, but Catholic goalkeeper Steven Lukas made the save.
- Washington got on the board in the 16th minute as Griffin Bull scored from the left side from 25 yards out, curving the ball inside the left post at 15:09. Kaliakin picked up the assist on the goal, giving him 27 for his career and tying the school record held by Bill Williams '76.
- A Kaliakin corner kick in the 23rd minute nearly gave the Shoremen a 2-0 lead, but it was saved by Lukas. Kaliakin had another corner kick saved by Lukas in the 28th.
- Christian Cooke put a shot on goal for the Shoremen in the 29th that was saved by Lukas. Aaron Barclay had a shot saved by Lukas in the 41st.
- Wilkinson had a shot on goal in the 54th saved by Lukas.
- Bradley Pierro evened the game for the Cardinals at 58:26 when he took the ball down the left side of the field, beat three defenders, and deflected the shot into the net.
- Dylan Gray had a shot for the Shoremen saved by Lukas in the 68th minute.
- Wilkinson put the Shoremen back in front at 70:00 when he tipped in a goal off an initial ball sent by Brian Graham.
- Wilkinson had another shot on goal saved by Lucas in the 73rd and then another in the 76th.
- Kaliakin's 28th career assist, breaking the mark Williams had held for 41 years, came at the 76:32 mark when Michael Holowesko scored off Kaliakin's corner kick to extend the lead to 3-1.
- Liam Mansfield accounted for the Shoremen's final shot on goal of the game in the 88th minute. Sean Adams had a shot saved by Washington goalkeeper Josh Samuels in the 89th.

Notes
- Kaliakin has now picked up at least one assist in each of the Shoremen's last five games. All eight of his assists this season have come in the past seven games.
- Williams still holds the career school records for goals (80) and total points (187).
- The Shoremen's five consecutive wins mirrors a five-game win streak they enjoyed last season. For the second year in a row, they have defeated McDaniel, Muhlenberg, Goucher, Ursinus, and now Catholic, in that order, but at opposite sites. Prior to last year, their most recent five-game win streak came in October 2000.
- The last 10 goals Holowesko has scored, over the past two seasons, have all been assisted by Kaliakin.
