Bullets Swim Past Shoremen, 160-102

Elliott Wins Pair of Individual Events for Shoremen

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Visiting Gettysburg College won its men's swimming season opener by a 160-102 count over host Washington College in a Centennial Conference dual meet this afternoon inside Casey Swim Center. The Shoremen dropped to 0-2 overall, both in conference, with the loss.

Shoremen Highlights
- Pat Elliott won both the 100 backstroke (54.51) and 200 backstroke (1:59.99) for the Shoremen and also placed second in the 1000 freestyle (10:19.06).
- Aidan Sullivan captured the 100 butterfly in 54.09 and placed second in the 100 freestyle in 48.76.
- Brendan Jones won the 200 individual medley in 2:021.41 and became the Shoremen's seventh-fastest swimmer ever in the 1000 freestyle with his third-place time of 10:20.70.
- Brent Hochstein won the 200 butterfly (2:03.84) for the Shoremen, while Teague Sauter was second in both breaststroke events. Sauter's time of 2:15.02 in the 200 breaststroke made him the Shoremen's eighth-fastest swimmer ever in the event, while his time of 1:01.16 in the 100 breaststroke made him the program's ninth-fastest swimmer ever in that event.
- Cody Weiler added a second-place finish in the 50 freestyle for the Shoremen, finishing in 22.26.
