Jones Breaks Pool Record in 400 Individual Medley
SALISBURY, Md. — The Washington College men's swim team defeated rival Salisbury University for the 25th time in the past 26 meetings between the two schools with a 110-95 win over the host Sea Gulls tonight. The Shoremen improved to 1-2 this season with the win, while the Sea Gulls fell to 1-3 with the loss.

Shoremen Highlights
- Brendan Jones broke the pool record in the 400-meter individual medley, winning in 4:52.31. He also won the 800-meter freestyle in 9:02.78.
- Cody Weiler, Aidan Sullivan, Kevin Mackenzie, and Teague Sauter each had one individual first and one individual second-place finish. Weiler won the 50-meter freestyle in 24.14 and was second in the 100-meter backstroke in 1:03.33. Sullivan won the 100-meter butterfly in 1:00.47 and was second in the 50-meter freestyle in 25.17. Mackenzie won the 100-meter freestyle in 54.99 and was second in the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:10.79. Sauter won the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:10.33 and was second in the 400-meter individual medley in 5:01.01.
- Pat Elliott placed second in both the 200-meter freestyle (2:01.27) and the 400-meter freestyle (4:17.16). David Rovansek added a second-place finish in the 800-meter freestyle in 9:26.04.
Notes
- The Sea Gulls' home venue, Maggs Pool, features a 25-meter pool rather than the more usual 25-yard pool found at most NCAA schools.
- The Shoremen now lead the all-time series with the Sea Gulls, 25-2.
