Dixon Hands Out Career-Best 11 Assists For Washington To Lead All Players

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Host Muhlenberg outscored visiting Washington College, 52-30, in the second half to turn a 44-34 deficit into an 86-74 win at Memorial Hall in a Centennial Conference men's basketball game on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
-Trailing 6-2 just 64 seconds into the game, Muhlenberg went on a 11-1 run to take a 13-7 lead with 15:48 to go in the first half on a Nick LaRose three-pointer.  The Mules hit three triples in the run.
-Washington would score 17 of the next 22 points to retake the lead at 19-18 with 10:51 to go in the first on a Dave Knox basket.
-Down 27-24 with 8:36 to go in the half, the Shoremen went on an 18-4 run to take a 42-31 lead on a three-pointer by Pat Morgan with 3:02 left in the stanza.  The Shoremen took a 44-34 lead into the break.
-The Mules scored 21 of the first 29 points of the second half to take a 55-52 lead with 10:09 remaining on a Nick Rindock layup.  John Hunter gave Muhlenberg its first lead since leading 28-27 with 7:11 left in the first half on a lay-in with 11:29 left to make it 53-52.
-With the score tied at 57-57 with 8:05 to go following a free throw by Kevin McCormick, the Mules went on a 13-3 run to take a 70-60 lead with 3:51 left on a pair of Rindock free throws.  Rindock began the run with a jumper with 7:46 to go to put Muhlenberg ahead for good at 59-57.
-The closest WC came the rest of the way was eight points when Gabe Ceribelli hit a three-pointer to cut the Mules lead to 82-74.

For The Shoremen (3-20, 1-15 CC)
-Tas Dixon (career-high and game-best 11 assists and scored 11 points for first career double-double), Morgan (16 points to lead Washington), James Drury (14 points), Knox (11 rebounds to lead all players and three steals), Aaron Geschwilm (three blocks)
-Outscored Muhlenberg in bench points, 29-13.

For Muhlenberg (10-12, 7-9 CC)
-Alec Stavetski (game-best 19 points), Rindock (18 points and 10-for-11 from the foul line), Hunter (15 points and game-high four rejections), Owen McLeod (12 points and three steals), LaRose (11 points and team-high six helpers)
-Held a 19-12 advantage in points off of turnovers.

Notes
-Both teams pulled down 42 rebounds in the game.
-In his 22nd game as a Shoreman, McCormick took his first free throw of the season.  The freshman canned his first with 8:05 left on a traditional three-point play to make it 57-57.  He made 2-of-3 in the game.
-Dixon's 11 assists were the first double figure assist performance by a Washington player since Kevin Breslin had 10 versus Gettysburg on January 7, 2012.
