Box Score Davis Converts Penalty Stroke For Washington
CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Alexis Young scored the game-winning goal with 18:44 left in the game to give visiting Stevenson a 2-1 win host visiting Washington College in a non-conference field hockey game on Saturday afternoon at Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium.

How It Happened
-The Mustangs scored their only goal of the first half when Sara McVey drove down the left side and beat Shorewomen goalie Kerrigan Buck short side 15:37 into the first half.
-Washington almost evened the game at the 16:26 into the opening half on a shot by Jen Tordella, but her shot was denied on a defensive save by Blair Bitner.
- Stevenson blocked a shot in the final minute by Alli Dudley.
-The Shorewomen earned a penalty stroke and tied the game 3:22 into the second half by Elizabeth Davis as she blasted a low shot to the right corner of the cage.
-Davis almost put WC ahead 2-1 at the 41:29 mark, but her shot was kick saved away by Kelsey Eure. That shot ended nine straight shots opening the second half by the hosts.
-Stevenson took advantage of a misplay by the WC defense for the game-winner as Young found the ball and beat Buck in a one-on-one to the left side to give the visitors a 2-1 lead at the 51:16 mark.
-The Shorewomen had two chances to tie it, but could not get the equalizer. Natalie Theriault hit the left post at the 54:22 mark and the rebound by Tordella went wide. The second chance by Davis off of a penalty corner with 12:28 to go was stopped by the Mustangs' Marissa Hoffman for a defensive save.
-WC's Olivia Auer had her first defensive save of her career as she stopped a shot by Rosemarie Neiva with 6:10 remaining.

-The Mustangs had 15 shots and 11 penalty corners in the game.
-Bitner and Hoffman had defensive saves in the game for Stevenson.
