Box Score SALISBURY, Md. — Host Salisbury University made a first-half goal stand up as the Sea Gulls defeated visiting Eastern Shore rival Washington College, 1-0, in a non-conference men's soccer game this afternoon.

How It Happened
- Salisbury broke a scoreless tie by scoring on the first shot on goal of the game in the 35th minute. Dolph Hegewisch scored from the right side 35 yards out, curling the ball into the far side of the net at the 34:05 mark. Colby Fell was credited with the assist on the play.
- Dimitri Kaliakin recorded the Shoremen's first shot on goal in the 38th minute, but had his free kick stopped by Sea Gull goalkeeper Robert Fiackos. The ball was then loose and kicked by Liam Mansfield, but a Slaisbury defender played it off the line to deny the scoring chance.
- Kaliakin had another free kick saved in the 39th as Fiackos got his hands on a ball heading high into the corner. Fiackos deflected it enough to put it off the post and then pick it up.
- The Shoremen had a 6-3 advantage in shots in the first half.
- Hegewisch nearly scored a second goal for the Sea Gulls in the 64th, but his shot was knocked away by a diving Josh Samuels. Nathaniel Eiben then sent a header wide left on an ensuing corner kick.
- The Shoremen first shot on goal of the second half came in the 78th minute when Fiackos stopped a low shot from Chris Gingrich.
- Cole Strong managed a diving header in the 82nd that went straight to Fiackos.
- Kendrick Michel recorded Salisbury's final shot in the 89th, sending a ball just over the crossbar.
- Strong had the final shot of the game with 15 seconds to go, heading a ball back to Fiackos. Fiackos then cleared the ball downfield and time expired as the Sea Gulls held on for the win.
