Box Score CHESTERTOWN, Md. — A single goal in the 42nd minute proved to be enough for visiting St. Mary's (Md.) College to earn a 1-0 non-conference men's soccer victory over host Washington College tonight on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.

How It Happened
- The game was in the 15th minute before either team recorded a shot. Seahawk Juwan Kearson had a shot from outside the box saved by Washington goalkeeper Josh Samuels at 14:11.
- The Shoremen's first shot came in the 18th minute when Skyler Clark beat St. Mary's goalkeeper Zack Haussler to a loose ball, but a Haussler stopped the shot inches from Clark's foot. A better scoring chance came in the 22nd minute for the Shoremen when Brian Wilkinson received a well-placed pass from Drew Thompson, but had his attempt saved by Haussler, who dove to his left to knock the ball away.
- St. Mary's got on the board at the 41:57 mark when Emmanuel Oppong stole a pass, weaved through the defense, and sent the ball in past a diving Samuels and off the left post to give the Seahawks a 1-0 lead.
- Each team finished the first half with five shots and two corner kicks.
- Clark had a terrific opportunity to even the score in the first minute of the second half, beating a defender and getting a one-on-one with St. Mary's goalkeeper Patrick Paolini, who replaced Haussler at halftime. Paolini made a diving stop to deny Clark.
- Alessandro Burlew nearly added a second goal for St. Mary's in the 73rd minute, getting a breakaway opportunity, but Samuels raced up to challenge him and made the save.
- The Shoremen's next shot on goal came in the 88th minute when Griffin Bull had a quick hooking shot saved by Paolini. Their final shot on goal came in the final seconds as Chris Lewandowski sent a header directly to Paolini as the Seahawks held on for the win.
