Lewis Sets Career-Highs With 15 Points and Eight Rebounds

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Host Muhlenberg outscored visiting Washington College 39-29 in the second half to turn a 27-23 halftime deficit into a 62-56 on Saturday afternoon in a Centennial Conference men's basketball game at Memorial Hall.

How It Happened
- Trailing 10-7 13:44 to go in the first half following two free throws by James Drury, the Mules went on a 9-0 run to take a 16-10 lead with 10:34 to go on a JeanLee Baez layup.
- Nigel Long gave Muhlenberg a 19-12 lead with 9:03 left in the first half before Washington went on an 11-0 run to grab a 23-19 lead with 3:51 remaining in the opening half on a Kevin McCormick three-pointer.  The Shoremen took a 27-23 lead into intermission.
- Austin Allen gave Washington its biggest lead of the game of six points at 31-25 on a layup with 16:31 remaining in the second half before Muhlenberg scored seven unanswered points to take a 32-31 lead with 13:50 left on a Brandon LaRose free throw.
- Down 35-34 after two free throws by the Shoremen's Tas Dixon with 11:05 left in the game, the Mules went on a 16-3 run to take a 50-38 lead with 5:56 to go on two LaRose free throws.
- Trailing 58-44, its biggest deficit of the game, Washington went on a 7-0 run to cut the Muhlenberg lead to 58-51 with 1:21 to go on a Josh Porteous steal and layup.
- The Shoremen got it to within four points at 60-56 with 17 ticks left in the game on a Alec Lewis three-pointer, but Long would make two free throws two seconds later to round out the scoring.

For The Shoremen (5-7, 1-4)
- Lewis (15 points to lead all players to go with eight rebounds that tied for game-best), Dixon (nine points), McCormick (nine points), Porteous (three steals).
- The Shoremen shot 38% (18-for-47) from the floor, 40% (4-for-10) from three-point range and 80% (16-for-20) from the foul line. 
- Washington had 18 turnovers in the contest. 
- The Shoremen held a 32-28 edge in rebounds and a 9-3 advantage in second chance points.

For Muhlenberg (7-3, 3-2)
- Baez (squad-high 13 points), Long (10 points), Jon Schreer (10 points), Owen McLeod (game-best four steals), John Hunter (game-high two blocks), Nick Rindock (eight boards).
- The Mules shot 41% (19-for-46) from the floor, 21% (3-for-14) from three-point range and 78% (21-for-27) from the free throw stripe. 
- Muhlenberg outscored Washington 36-17 in bench points and held an 18-10 advantage in points off of turnovers.
- The Mules had 13 turnovers in the game.
