Keller Scores in Loss for Shoremen

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Visiting Haverford College scored in the 99th minute to earn a 2-1 Centennial Conference men's soccer overtime win over host Washington College this evening on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.

How It Happened
- Skyler Clark of the Shoremen had the first shot on goal of the game in the 11th minute, but it was saved by a diving Jeremy Astesano.
- Griffin Bull rang a free kick off the post in the 25th minute. Greg Adams had a nice chance saved by Astesano less than a minute later.
- Clark sent a point-blank shot high over the net in the 48th. Keller followed with a shot on goal in the 49th saved by a diving Astesano. A header by Evan Savoth in the 51st was saved in a similar fashion. 
- Haverford's first strong scoring chance came in the 75th minute, but Gavin Campbell came up to deflect a shot away and off the foot of the Fords' Nick Jannelli.
- The Shoremen got on the board when Greg Adams sent a beautiful long cross to a cutting Christian Keller who finished the shot in front of the net at 83:09.
- The Fords evened things up 67 seconds later when Ben Field put a cross into the box for a goal by Peter Baroff.
- Adams had a long shot saved in the 90th as the game headed to overtime.
- Clark had a shot on goal in the 93rd saved by Astesano and Jannelli followed with a shot saved by Campbell on the other end moments later. Jannelli got off another shot, saved by Campbell, in the 96th.
- Ben Field scored the game-winner for the Fords at 98:19, as he cut through the box to finish a pass from the middle of the box sent by Jannelli.

- Scorers: Keller (goal), Adams (assist)
- Goalkeeper: Campbell (3 saves, 2 goals allowed, 90:00)
- The Shoremen held a 15-10 advantage in shots in the game.

For Haverford (8-3-3, 3-2-1 Centennial Conference)
- Scorers: Field (goal, assist), Baroff (goal), Jannelli (assist)
- Goalkeeper: Astesano (6 saves, 1 goal allowed, 90:00)
- Haverford held a 6-5 edge in corner kicks.

- Keller was named the Goose Nation TV Shoremen Player of the Game on the broadcast of the game.
