Johnson Becomes Team's Third-Fastest Swimmer Ever in 1000 Freestyle
CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Freshman Leo Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Jemicy Upper School) became the school's third-fastest swimmer ever in the 1000 freestyle as the Washington College men's swim team cruised to a 153-52 non-conference dual meet win over visiting St. Mary's College of Maryland tonight inside Casey Swim Center.

Shoremen Highlights
- Johnson's winning time in the 1000 freestyle clocked in at 10:04.49, a time which would have stood as the school record as recently as four years ago and now places him as the team's third-fastest swimmer ever in the event. He also won the 100 freestyle in 49.52.
- Brendan Jones won the 200 individual medley in 2:02.31 and the 500 freestyle in 4:55.37, while Andrew Feeley took the 200 freestyle in 1:50.69 and the 100 backstroke in 55.80.
- Cody Weiler won the 50 freestyle in 21.66, while Seth Wrigley took the 100 butterfly in 54.32.
- Feeley, Brett Edwards, Aidan Sullivan, and Weiler opened the meet with a 1:40.57 winning time in the 200 medley relay. Kevin Mackenzie, Jake Brown, Dave Rovansek, and Johnson closed the meet with a winning time of 1:30.98 in the 200 freestyle relay.
- Sullivan was second in both the 50 freestyle (22.12) and the 100 butterfly (54.48). Edwards was second in the 200 freestyle in 1:50.87, while Brown was second in the 200 individual medley in 2:04.71. Michael Cebzanov placed second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.56.
Notes
- The Shoremen improved to 3-3 in dual meets this season with the win, while Seahawks dropped to 2-4 with the loss.
- Johnson was named the Goose Nation TV Shoremen Swimmer of the Meet.
