#21 Blue Jays Best Shoremen, 8-1

Salisbury & Sandler Win at No. 1 Doubles for Shoremen

BALTIMORE, Md. — Host Johns Hopkins University, ranked 21st in Division III and fifth in the Atlantic South region, remained unbeaten in the Centennial Conference with an 8-1 win over visiting Washington College in a men's tennis match this afternoon in Baltimore. The Blue Jays improved to 13-2 overall and 8-0 in conference play with the win, while the Shoremen, ranked 20th in the region, fell to 11-5 and 5-3 with the loss.

Doubles
- Jake Sandler and Chris Salisbury notched Washington's point with an 8-6 win at No. 1 against Nakul Narendran and Colin Muraika.
- At No. 2, Nate Safran and Austin Gu topped Jeremy Novick and Luke Weaver, 8-5. Cody Kim and Jacob Lin were 8-3 winners for Hopkins against Justin Panepinto and Matthew Katz at No. 3.

Singles
- The Blue Jays won all six singles matches in straight sets. Kim bested Salisbury, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 1, Aaron Carey downed Sandler, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 2, and Safran bested Weaver, 7-5, 6-2, at No. 3.
- Gu added a 6-2, 6-0, victory against Novick at No. 4, Elliot Seckler downed August Meriot, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 5, and Lin beat Panepinto, 6-4, 7-6(3), at No. 6.
