Shoremen Snap Long Skid Against Sea Gulls with 3-2 Double-Overtime Win

Graham Scores Game-Winner in 104th Minute

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Junior forward Brian Graham (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) scored the game-winning goal in the 104th minute as the host Washington College men's soccer team knocked off visiting Salisbury, 3-2, in double overtime tonight on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Sea Gulls had won 16 games in a row over the Shoremen prior to tonight.

How It Happened
- The Shoremen took a 1-0 lead at the 33:10 mark when Evan Savoth headed in his first collegiate goal off a corner kick from Griffin Bull. The assist was the first of Bull's collegiate career.
- The Sea Gulls tied things up at 39:37 when Dylan Parks scored on a shot over the head of Washington goalkeeper Josh Samuels after a defender fell to the turf.
- The Shoremen nearly regained the lead in the 44th minute, but a shot by Christian Keller rang off both posts.  
- Salisbury took its first lead at 52:20 when Brooks Zentgraf broke away from the defense and sent a hard shot into the top of the net from the top of the box.
- Savoth scored again to tie things up at the 61:06 mark, sending the ball into the opposite corner of the goal after receiving a free kick from James Strine.
- Savoth put a header on goal in the 92nd minute for the first scoring chance of overtime. The Sea Gulls put three shots on goal in the first overtime, with Samuels making a save as time expired on the third of those.
- Graham's game-winner came on the only shot on goal of the second overtime. He received a long cross from Kyle Gaeffke, played the ball off his chest and beat Salisbury goalkeeper Trevor Brookhart at the 103:36 mark.

- Goalkeeper: Samuels (7 saves, 2 goals allowed, 90:00)
- The Shoremen had an 8-6 advantage in corner kicks in the game.

For Salisbury (1-5)
- Scorers: Parks (goal), Zentgraf (goal)
- Goalkeeper: Trevor Brookhart (8 saves, 3 goals allowed, 90:00)
- Salisbury held a slim 20-19 advantage in shots in the game.

Notes
- The last win for the Shoremen over the Sea Gulls was a 2-1 victory in 1989.
- Savoth was named the Goose Nation TV Shoremen Player of the Game on the webcast of the contest.
